Announcing Keltron LS 7000 Life Safety Event Management System V 4.0 Software
Enhances Complex and Redundant Systems, Operator/Programmer Use and History Reporting

Keltron Corporation, a leading provider of life safety event management solutions, announces the availability of version 4.0 software for the Keltron LS 7000 life safety event management system. This important release includes many features that have been developed at the recommendation of Keltron’s customers and users.

The newest system in the company’s extensive line of fire protection systems, the Keltron LS 7000 system combines the flexibility and efficiency of PC-based, network-compatible computing with the universal compatibility and dependability for which Keltron’s solutions are known.

The Keltron LS 7000 Version 4.0 software release includes these significant new features, upgrades and improvements for three different utilizations: operations using redundant systems, ease-of-operator and programmer-use and history reporting enhancement. Highlights are:

Facilitating operations in large configurations and redundant sites:

Site acknowledge
Enables fast acknowledgement of all pending events and alarms for an individual site. As the demand for redundant systems and building systems integration increases, this feature limits operator confusion or overload when dispatching simultaneous multiple zone signals or when the same event arrives via two different communications paths.

Multiple receivers per locale and receiver aliasing
Enables a single locale to receive events from multiple receivers. This feature facilitates the configuration of systems that consist of both primary and backup communications paths using different receivers or signaling technology such as the Keltron Active Network Radio and Keltron Ethernet Signaling systems.

Improving operator productivity and accuracy:

Re-alarm on return-to-service
Alerts operators when an off-normal device that has been designated as out-of-service or trouble shunted has automatically returned to service.

Enhanced event notation
Enables operators to add notations to incoming events and when they schedule devices as out-of-service. Dispatcher notes may be added to an event either while the event is being dispatched or while it is in rotation. All notations are recorded in the system history database and are immediately available to all other operators.

Reducing programming time and improving accuracy:

Add-Site wizard
Substantially speeds the administrative process of adding new sites and accounts while ensuring accurate programming.

Default site icon
Defines the icon placement at the site level. Default placement will be automatically displayed for any zone or point for that site to ensure that all icons appear in the system. Default placement may be overridden by programming on a zone-by-zone basis.

Enhancing history reporting functionality:

On-line help in History Editor
This online History Editor user’s guide provides fast, easy information using a familiar, searchable, indexed on-line help.

New history archive-and-purge function
With this new enhancement, the administrator can select a range of events from history, archive them to an external file and remove them from the database once archived. This feature enables the user to maintain only active events on line without maintaining a large history database.

Additional enhancements and new features include:

  • Multiple search criteria in history
  • Programmable default alert sounds
  • Separate alert sounds
  • Fine-tune event category properties
  • Global panel reset/restore codes
  • Template- and device-wide default event categories
  • Copy zones in a template
  • Print selected objects from navigator in maintenance
  • Expanded Dispatch Options setup

Availability
The Keltron LS 7000 system software version 4.0 will be available at the end of October, 2007. Demonstrations and additional literature will be available in the Keltron booth #1033 during the upcoming ASIS 2007 Seminar and Exhibits in Las Vegas, September 24-26, 2007 or on site by scheduled appointment.
